Civilchem currently employs a number of key Technical and support staff to complement the delivery needs of our current and potential clients. This team of dedicated individuals is made up of civil engineering graduates and students to complement our core competencies and support staff involved with internal services such as administration, human resources, finance and procurement in order to ensure efficient services to our clients.
Project Leadership
Ramatlhodi Joseph Ramalope: PR Tech Eng, Pr CPM, B-Tech Eng (Civil), BSc (Honds), MSc (MTM), MIPET, MSAICE.
Ramathlodi Ramalope is the founder and Managing Member of Civilchem Engineering Services. He holds a Bachelors Tech Degree in Civil Engineering as well as Master of Science (MSc Eng) in Technology Management. He is registered as a professional Engineering Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). He is a member of the South African Institute of Civil Engineers (SAICE) as well as the Institute for Professional Engineering Technologists (IPET). He has 26 years’ experience in design and construction of Civil Engineering infrastructure having worked for both Construction and Consulting Civil Engineering companies within and outside the borders of South Africa.
Ramathlodi Ramalope fulfills the role of project leader overseeing the design and execution of all civil engineering projects in our portfolio.
Project Management
Riaan Fourie: B-Eng (Civil)
Riaan Fourie joined Civilchem Engineering Services in January 2014. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering obtained from the University of Johannesburg in 2010 and has accumulated over 15 years’ experience in design and construction of Civil Engineering infrastructure. He is currently registered as a Candidate Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
Riaan fulfills the role of project manager and oversees a range of private and public works projects from inception to close out. He specializes in project management, project administration, contract documentation and contract management.
President Gumbeni: B Tech (Civil) N Dip Eng (Civil)
President joined Civilchem Engineering Services in October 2020 and brings over nine years of experience in wet services and road design. He holds a Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Urban Engineering from the University of South Africa (2019) and a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Tshwane University of Technology (2015).
As a Design Engineer, President is responsible for overseeing the entire design process of Civil Engineering infrastructure, from conceptualization to construction. His expertise lies in the design and implementation of sewer systems, water reticulation networks, stormwater drainage, and road infrastructure. He is currently registered as a Candidate Technologist with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), demonstrating his commitment to professional development and industry standards.
Nkateko Khoza: B Eng (Civil)
Nkateko joined Civilchem Engineering Services in July 2021. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Johannesburg which was obtained in 2017, and a Certificate in Financial Management from the University of Cape Town which was obtained in 2022. He has accumulated over 7 years’ experience, where he assumed various roles including the roles of a Civil Designer, Site Engineer, Site Agent, and Resident Engineer.
Nkateko currently fulfils the roles of a Project Manager and Programme Manager. He facilitates the implementation of various projects from inception to close out.
Construction Monitoring
Sihle Dhladhla: N Dip Eng (Civil)
Sihle joined the Civilchem Engineering Services team in August 2018 as a Junior Resident Engineer. He holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Vaal University of Technology (2018) and carrying out studies towards his Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering, with the University of South Africa. He has acquired more than four years of experiences in the construction monitoring of civil engineering infrastructure projects which including construction of sewer and water reticulation, roads, and stormwater projects.
Sihle fulfils the role of full-time Construction Monitoring personnel in housing project (RDP) projects within the company. He oversees the implementation of a number of other construction projects where he fulfils the role of a Site Engineer.
Thabiso Siluma: N Dip Eng (Civil)
Thabiso joined Civilchem Engineering Services in June 2024. He holds a National N Diploma in civil engineering obtained from Jeppe College of commerce and computer studies. He has more than four years’ experience in Roads and Sewer networks. He specializes in structural surveying of sewer, roads, building and water reticulation.
Thabiso fulfils the roles of full-time Construction Monitoring, contract administration, and contract management. He oversees the implementation of these projects from commencement to handover to intended clients.
Engineering Design
Khaya Tshunungwa: N Dip Eng(Civil)
Khaya Tshunungwa joined Civilchem Engineering Services in August 2017 and holds a National Diploma in Civil Engineering. He has more than 4 years’ experience in the implementation and design of civil engineering projects.
Khaya fulfills the role of junior design engineer and facilitates the design of civil engineering infrastructure from concept phase to construction phase. He specializes in the design of water reticulation and roads infrastructure design.
Draughting
Vathiswa Peter:
Vathiswa Peter joined Civilchem Engineering Services in 2016. She holds a Computer Aided Draughting (CAD) Specialization Diploma from CTU Training Solutions (2014) & also a NQF6 in Civil Engineering (2025). Vathiswa is acquiring building experience in the design and construction of Civil Engineering infrastructure. She is registered as an Affiliate Member with the South African Institute of Draughting (SAID).
Vathiswa fulfils the role of a Draftsperson & also a Site Agent Assistant in our construction projects to acquire more skills as a Civil Technician and oversees drawing standard in accordance with applicable Civil Engineering criteria. Vathiswa specializes in the producing, submission and distribution of Engineering Drawings, As-built Drawings and Locality Plans to Councils, Clients and Contractors for all the projects within the company.
Office Management
Charity Mahlangu: N Dip (Office Admin.)
Charity Mahlangu worked for Civilchem Engineering Services from 2014 to 2018 and re-joined the organisation again in 2024. She holds a National Dimploma in Office Administration from Quest Skills and Computer Centre (2014) and studying towards Her degree in Management. She has experience of more than 15 years in administration and has accumulated about 9 years of experience in Project administration, Tender Processing and Management in general.
Charity currently fulfils the role of Office Manager overseeing the general function of the office including supervising administrative staff and ensuring the smooth day to day operations by handling administrative duties and managing facilities.
Administration
Sibongile Lephoto: Higher Cert (EMS)
Sibongile Lephoto joined Civilchem Engineering Services in 2016 as and Office Administrator. She holds a Higher Certificate in Economics Management Sciences from the University of South Africa (2021) and studying towards a BCom in Business Management with the University of South Africa. Sibongile has accumulated eight years’ experience in office administration, civil engineering project administration, tender processing, financial management and office management.
Pertunia Zondo: N Dip (Technical Financial Accountancy)
Pertunia Zondo joined Civilchem Engineering Services in 2021 as an Office Administrator. She holds a Diploma in Technical Financial Accountancy from Boston College (2015). She has 9 years of experience in Administration and in 2021 experienced position as a receptionist at Civilchem Engineering Services.
Pertunia currently fulfils the role of office adminstrator and completing tender documents. Pertunia also implements company filling for various courses and provides financial administration, processing payments and providing prompt Proof of Payment.
Nokuthula Xulu:
Nokuthula Xulu Joined Civilchem Engineering Services in 2023 as an administrative assistant. She his a highly Motivated and Organised administration professional with 2 years’ experience and has successfully completed a tendering qualification. She is currently pursuing a short course in Project Management with the University of South Africa set to expand Her skills set, to drive Project Efficiency and Effectiveness. She has demonstrated adaptability and growth, evolving from and Administrative Assistant role to taking on additional responsibilities and contributing to project success.
Palesa Seaga:
Palesa Seaga joined Civilchem Engineering Services in 2023 as a Company Receptionist. She has one year of admin experience and holds a Tendering Qualification.
Palesa fulfils the role of a receptionist ensuring the smooth run of the front desk and general office work, also assisting in tendering and liaising with site agents.
